Trip to Mount Pulag, Bokod, Benguet – My wife and I went on a road trip to Mount Pulag yesterday. We gassed up at Petron BGH and started from there at 10 am. We reached Ambuklao Dam after 1 hour and then had lunch at a roadside restaurant before resuming our trip. We finally reached the Ranger Station at 1:45 pm. That’s a total of 3 hours 45 minutes including some stop-overs (sight-seeing, picture-taking, and lunch). Distance from the Petron gas station to the Ranger Station recorded by my Strada’s MID is 70 kilometers. Road from the National highway to Ambangeg is a mixture of concrete and dirt road. From Ambangeg, the road starts from concreted then it will be a mixture of concreted tire path, dirt and rough road surfaces. Had to engage and disengage 4wd depending on the road surface. We stopped by at the Ranger Station to have a chat with the person in-charged. We were told that we can drive further up so we continued driving till we reached the end of the road. We parked the truck and then walked a short distance just to take a glimpse of Mount Pulag. My wife and I did this trip only to check the road condition for our next Pulag trip this coming weekend with our kids who will be having their summer vacation and with some relatives who’re very keen in joining us.

Kung malaki sana yung truck ko I will invite all interested members to ride with me biggrin.gif .

Our next trip will be a 2-days trip. First day will be spent driving to the ranger station, hike to the campsite and then spend the night camping. Early morning the second day we plan to hike up to the peak hoping to reach it just when the sun begins to rise.

Thank you sirs Totsy and Nayr1310 smile.gif.

Puwede po maghire ng 4x4 na jeep or jeep na meron rear lockers going to Mount Pulag. I think the cost is 7,500. There are other fees and registration requirements before heading to the place. To know more, here's the website of Mount Pulag: http://www.pawb.gov.ph/protected/mt_pulag/pulagmain.htm

Thanks sir Tevs. Pareho pala tayo when we were still kids smile.gif . My kids are looking forward to seeing unusual plants when they do their hiking to the summit. They haven't seen yet a pitcher plant (only pictures) so I am hoping that they get to finally see an actual one.
